Founded in the summer of 2005 by Greg Barba, Unique Food and Beverage (UFB) was created with one goal in mind: to provide an excellent fan experience.

How do we do that?

By providing high-quality, efficient food services and facilities management. We take a hands-on approach to everything we do, from menu development to event planning.

We cater to thousands of guests daily and have provided services for:

Meet the president and CEO

The year was 1982, and 15-year-old Greg Barba was on a mission.

When most boys his age were looking forward to the upcoming summer break filled with typical summertime activities, Greg was looking for a job. It wasn’t long before he caught the attention of food concessionaire Ted Shaw who hired him on the spot.

Greg spent 16 years at Shaw’s company, where a big part of his job was providing food and beverage services at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland.  Then, after a seven-year break from Food & Beverage work, he decided it was time to start his own company.

In 2005, Unique Food and Beverage (UFB) was born. At inception, UFB was a tenacious sub-contractor for the larger service providers. Clients and owners noticed that UFB-managed operations were often superior to those of the parent provider. Before long, certain clients convinced Greg that he should be a full-service provider.
In 2009, UFB became that full-service provider for the D.C. National Guard Armory, where he turned the venue into a profit center.
Now with 40 years of experience in the food service industry, Greg is still passionate about providing excellent service.
He attributes his success to always putting customers first and having a great team of employees who share his commitment to excellence. His clients have come to appreciate his expertise, responsiveness, attention to detail, and ability to simplify the processes involved in professional food service management.
